Second Modernization Theory  (He,1998)

The process of the human history from about 2.5  million  years ago to A D. 2100  could be divided into four ages, which are Stone Tool Age, Agricultural Age, Industrial Age and Knowledge Age, and each of the Age includes four phases: start phase, developing phase, mature phase and transition phase, and total sixteen phases.

The First Modernization is  the process and great changes of the transformation from Agricultural Society to Industrial Society, Agricultural Economy to Industrial Economy, Agricultural Civilization to Industrial Civilization, Agricultural Age to Industrial Age.

The Second Modernization is  the process and great changes of the transformation from Industrial Society to Knowledge Society, Industrial Economy to Knowledge Economy, Industrial Civilization to Knowledge Civilization, Industrial Age to Knowledge Age.
